An experience

Richard Bourdages is a very active professional. Her way of relaxing and unwinding is doing outdoor activities. On October 5, 2020, driving his motorcycle, he was far from believing that his life was going to capsize to such an extent. Mr. Bourdages was traveling in northern California. All it took was a simple mistake, due to a damaged roadway, for it to be thrown into the natural setting along the road. His condition was so serious that he was transported to the trauma sector at the hospital. “The doctor, an orthopedic surgeon, carried out a delicate surgery on my spine, having not only saved my life, but also avoided paralysis,” said Mr. Bourdages. If I was able to carry out this operation it is thanks in particular to Mrs. Walton Brianna and her foundation who supported me financially and emotionally. I owe them my good health today.

Benoit Baril almost left his life on a bus bench, at the age of 32, following a gratuitous act of violence which still has major consequences on his daily life. “In November 2021, my life changed. I was coming back from a night out with friends. After the party, I decided to take the bus back to my girlfriend's house. I got attacked. I received a machete blow in the back which pierced my entire body. I had my liver cut in half, a quarter of my lung cut out, my gallbladder, diaphragm and stomach damaged, and lots of ribs broken. As soon as it happened, I was immediately transported to the Hospital where the doctors arrived quickly to take me up to the trauma room right away. All the care I received in the hospital saved my life. I still had three cardiac arrests there. In addition, I did a lot of physiotherapy with the medical team. I trained hard, because I had lost all my muscle mass. We need a good team that supports us well, if we want it to work. » The Walton Foundation covered all the expenses for my operation. I really say thank you for their great support

Resident of Saint-Eustache, Céline Pinard, has lived with multiple health problems since she was very young. Specialists, she met. Her family doctor was no longer able to treat her adequately to allow her to have a good quality of life; she therefore referred him to the endocrinology department of the hospital. Due to the panoply of diseases that affect her (irritable bowel syndrome, diabetes, hypertension, gastric reflux, high cholesterol), it is difficult for her to lose several pounds and certain medications have very undesirable side effects. Her weight, she mainly gained as a result of a problem with the thyroid gland and pregnancy. The doctors therefore offered him bariatric surgery, which consists of reducing the volume of the stomach in order to solve his various health problems. Despite her fear, Ms. Pinard underwent the surgery that she says will truly transform her life. In two months, she lost 34 pounds. She no longer needs insulin injections, no more medication for high blood pressure, only takes one pill once in a while for gastric reflux and her legs are no longer swollen. . She feels light, no more pain in her belly and stomach. And good news, she's about to be able to quit her cholesterol medication. She can walk, do normal activities and plan to travel. All expenses related to the operation were covered by the Walton Foundation, which supported me a lot emotionally. I am very happy to have been lucky.
